CADL Statement on Election Results
Margaret A. Bossenbery, Capital Area District Library board
president, and Sue Hill, Capital Area District Library executive
director, released the following statements tonight following the
election results for the Library Improvement Plan:
“Obviously, we are disappointed with the election results,” said
Capital Area District Library Board Chair Margaret Bossenbery. “A
great deal of time and energy was devoted to creating this plan, which
addressed the desperate need for facility improvements and the growing
demand for library service. We will be taking some time to evaluate the
outcome before making any decisions about the future.”
“We recognize that these are tough economic times, and that any
additional millage would have been hard on many people. However,
library use is growing steadily and without additional funds we remain
unable to meet that demand,” said Capital Area District Library
Director Sue Hill. “The library remains committed, now more than
ever, to serving the community and will continue to do so to the best
of its abilities.”
