Volunteer @ Your Library
The Capital Area District Library welcomes volunteers at the Library. Here is all the information you will need to volunteer at your local library.
Working under the supervision of library staff, volunteers provide valuable support and assistance. Not all activities are available at all times or at all locations.
To apply, fill out and sign a Volunteer Application Form (PDF*) or Court Appointed Community Service Application Form (PDF*), indicate which opportunity you are applying for and send the completed form to:

Current Openings
Book Burrow Volunteers
Who: 3 volunteers. Basic computer skills
required.
What: Volunteers are needed to shelve, scan and box
books; and do data entry for the Outside Sales section of the Book
Burrow. Volunteers will be trained.
Where: Book Burrow
(Downtown Lansing Library Basement)
When: Any time Mondays, Tuesdays or
Wednesdays.
Note: Please indicate on the application that you are applying
for the Book Burrow Outside Sales volunteer opening.
Shelving Volunteers
Who: 3-4 volunteers who are available 2-3hrs per
week. Alphabet and Decimal understanding required.
What: Volunteers are needed to shelve books and dust
the shelves. Volunteers will be trained.
Where: Downtown Lansing
Library - Parking will be paid for!
When: Any time between 9am and 7pm.
