Anita Savage Receives Director's Award
At the end of each month, I highlight the incredible work of one of CADL's employees. The recipient for the September Director’s Award is Anita Savage, Public Service Librarian, Downtown Lansing Branch. Dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, and thoughtfulness are just a few of the words used to describe Anita. With her proactive and hands-on approach, Anita has enhanced CADL services to the community. Here is a summary of some of the comments that were sent in:
“Anita came to us from Texas a year ago and has been at the Downtown Lansing Branch as a Public Service Librarian, but she is so much more! From day one, Anita has jumped into her roll and has always been quick to serve the public as well as her co-workers.
If another staff member posts a question on Teams, Anita is fast to respond with an accurate answer and links to back it up. Her dedication and thoroughness is shown in the care and attention to detail she gives patrons when helping them with tasks whether it is finding a phone number or intensive computer assistance.
Anita creates amazing displays like her recent “Summer Memory Jars” based on the book by Vera Brosgol. Her creativity has also brought awesome displays to the front windows of Downtown supporting season programs such as summer reading and most currently the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge.
Anita jumps in to cover baby, toddler or family storytimes when needed, engages after school kids at the community centers with fun and educational programs, and willingly volunteers for collection projects and tasks, all the while soaking in everything Michigan has to offer in her free time. Her enthusiasm and positive spirit are contagious, and her eagerness and thoughtfulness are admired.”
Congratulations to Anita!
