Annie Gordon Announced as New Head of Public Services
Capital Area District Libraries’ (CADL) Okemos Branch has announced the selection of Annie Gordon to serve as its new Head of Public Services, effective Monday, Oct. 31.
Gordon has worked at CADL since January 2019 as a Public Service Librarian at the Holt-Delhi Branch. In this new role, she will collaborate with Regional Head Librarian Thomas Moore and Haslett’s Head of Public Services Robert Chartrand to brainstorm new ways to support the Meridian Township library community.
“I love being a part of the ever-changing library world and I look forward to building a cooperative relationship between the Okemos and Haslett branches,” said Gordon. “Libraries aren’t the quiet, bookish places they used to be and that is wonderful! It makes me happy to see libraries as bustling places where that sense of community can grow.”
Gordon brings more than 20 years of library experience to her new role. Before joining CADL, she served as Adult Services Librarian at the East Lansing Public Library from 2014-2018. Prior to that position, she was a Library Specialist at Davenport University's Lansing Campus from 2011-2014 as well as a Library Clerk at the South Lansing Branch from 2010-2014. She also served as the head research librarian and archivist at a private research library from 2007-2009.
She holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Wells College.
“We are pleased to welcome Annie to the Okemos Library and Meridian Township community,” said Moore. “She has been an asset at CADL and I’m certain she will continue to do great things. We look forward to seeing the positive changes she has in store for us.”
