Heather Paris Receives Director's Award

HO_Sept 2021_Heather Paris Headshot.jpgI’m thrilled to announce that the Director’s Award for September was given to Heather Paris, library assistant at the Holt-Delhi branch. Heather is one of the most engaged staff members that I’ve had the pleasure to work with. She has done a fantastic job at Holt where she has worked as both a clerk and a library assistant. She has also helped CADL by volunteering to work on CADL’s Inclusivity Workgroup, where she is an active participant. In the workgroup, she helped Julie Laxton with developing a new opening statement to be included in our job postings. She has also become the chair of the Land Acknowledgement group that is part of the Inclusivity Workgroup, working to build reciprocal and intentional relationships with others; such as Eva Menafee, Lead Faculty Advisory and Chair of the Committee on Indigenous People at LCC, who is serving as an advisor. In working with Heather, I’ve seen her dedication and engagement in making our libraries and our communities places where all individuals feel a sense of belonging.

Many of our projects and goals, like the Land Acknowledgement project, are not easy and they take a lot of time, engagement and dedication. Heather, thank you so much for your dedication in taking on these important projects and making the Holt-Delhi branch and CADL such a wonderful part of our communities. Your work is greatly appreciated.
