Jennifer DeGroat Receives Director's Award
I’m so pleased to give the Director’s Award for July to Jennifer DeGroat, Head Librarian of the Aurelius Branch. Jennifer has always done a fantastic job of cultivating relationships with schools near the Aurelius Branch. During our closure and the closure of schools in March, she communicated with the schools so that library information was included in communications to parents. She promoted our digital collections, our virtual programs and how to get a library card. Along with this, she made sure her church community knew how to get library cards and how to access the library’s collection of digital items. Her dedication to serving her community and thinking of innovative ways to do that is so appreciated.
Also, this year will be different, but in past years Jennifer and the Aurelius staff have one of the best holiday open houses. When you attend the event, you see and feel the special place of the library in the community. Events like that, show the community-minded approach Jennifer has to library service. Jennifer, thank you so much for the work you do for our patrons, our staff and CADL. You’re greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Scott Duimstra, CADL Executive Director
