Kate Newcombe Receives Director's Award
I’m very excited to let you know that the Director’s Award for September has been given to Kate Newcombe, Youth Services Librarian at the Haslett Branch. Kate is a wonderful Youth Librarian and it’s something that she excels at with her innovative programs and services. But, when we asked her to help filling in as Head Librarian at Haslett earlier this year, Kate was happy to help. That’s her personality and one of the many reasons why staff at Haslett and staff throughout CADL love working with Kate.
Kate went above and beyond this summer for those who participated in Summer Reading and needed to select a book that was part of the prizes. Since they couldn’t come in and browse, Kate created a list of available titles in Goodreads and shared the link with the participants. That was such a creative and innovative way to allow them to still browse the available titles and just one of the many reasons Kate is so deserving of the award.
Along with all of the innovative work that Kate has done, she’s also one of the nicest people you’ll meet. Kate, thank you so much for all that you do for Haslett and for CADL.
