Summer in a Snapshot
We had a great summer at the Aurelius branch! Our staff was excited to, once again, host a more “normal” and robust summer line-up than in recent years. Here is a quick snapshot of our activities:
- Summer Reading Promotion to classrooms at North Aurelius Elementary School.
- More than 200 participants in our annual Summer Reading Challenge for prizes.
- Hundreds in attendance at Summer Reading Specials like Family Fun Day, Howell Nature Center, Drummunity, Lansing Hoops, and Potter Park Zoo.
- STEAM science learning days featuring Dr. Slime, a pond study, a rainforest in a bottle, and kite-building.
- Adult enrichment through programs like Book Discussion and Reminisce.
- Outdoor reading and recreation at our StoryWalk in Glenna Droscha Park, in partnership with Aurelius Township.
We are very grateful to our Friends group for hosting a book sale to help raise funds for the library, as well as for their generous contribution that made our summer programs possible! To find out more about our Friends group, visit their page.
