Thank You, Friends of the Leslie Library
This week is National Friends of the Libraries week and we couldn’t be prouder of our Friends of the Leslie Library. They’ve accomplished so much this year with many events that support our members. Not only did they hold their Annual Spring Book Sale, but they also hosted their first book sale on the library lawn during the Leslie Area-Wide Garage Sales. In addition, they hosted their first Annual Summer Reading Picnic providing food and fun to over 40 Leslie area residents.
The Friends also sponsor the Leslie Branch’s quarterly Author Nites including an upcoming author visit from Tobin Buhk on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 7-8 p.m. The Friends are very excited to bring this true crime author back to Leslie to discuss his new book, Pardonable Matricide. Pardonable Matricide follows the story of Police Captain Jack Boyle - from Jackson Michigan - as he searched for the murderer of Mary Latimer. The book examines the mind of Robert Irving Latimer, known as the most dangerous prisoner in Michigan.
I encourage you all to thank members of the Friends of the Leslie Library for their support of CADL Leslie. I would like to personally thank board members Marie Charnley, Jeff Charnley, Vickie Vandenbelt, Barb Keeler and Marlene Gray for all their hard work and dedication.
