Think Outside the Library!
Last week I took the wonderful opportunity to just stop and sit on my porch during the gorgeous weather. And it was RELAXING. I watched the birds fly amongst the trees and enjoyed the heat from the sun. It’s especially important to get time in to just breath and enjoy the simple things.
At the Leslie Branch we place an emphasis on not only books but incorporating the love of reading and learning outdoors. The Friends of the Leslie Library certainly agree and we’re very happy they provided four sets of café tables where library members can sit, relax, read, or use a library laptop. It’s an especially wonderful place to sit when the trees are in bloom!
Our love of nature tends to creep into a lot of what we do here. Based on the feedback we receive it’s a love shared by many in our little Leslie community! Take & Make offerings like flower gift kits for Moms to Vegetable Garden starters emphasize learning in nature. Even our Early Literacy Fun Packs are perfect for kids to enjoy outside.
We are busy planning many more outdoor oriented services for the future. We can’t wait to meet you outside the library!
