Thomas Moore Receives Director's Award

HA_2022_Zavier DeGroat Autism Foundation_Tom Award 1.jpgWe're thrilled to announce that the Director’s Award for December was given to Thomas Moore, Regional Head Librarian for Haslett and Okemos. Tom has done an exceptional job in his role and has always looked for ways to be a community partner and offer great service. He was recently recognized for his service by the Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation. Tom has also done so much for other CADL branches as well. Amanda Vorce, Head Librarian of the Webberville branch, sent me a wonderful nomination for Tom. She had this to say about him:

He deserves it on a multitude of levels, his enthusiasm for innovative ideas, his drive for communitive partnerships, his constant encouragement and positivity, and his excellent sewing skills, all are worthy of recognition. I wanted to make sure, however, that he got recognized for the support he has provided to not only Webberville but all of us rural libraries over the past few years.

Would you rather question.jpgI wholeheartedly agree. Tom has really helped when there have been staffing issues due to sickness. His desire to help our members, community groups and fellow staff members are just a few of the reasons he’s so deserving of this award. He’s also innovative in his approach to finding ways to connect with the community. From snowman takeover events at parks, to stick libraries for dogs, to large-scale Scrabble walls, Tom never ceases to stop in his creativity for how to provide library service to our communities.

Tom, thank you so much for all that you do for our communities and our staff. We appreciate you so much.
