Your Library Card Goes Farther at Stockbridge
Since 2019 I have wanted to offer bicycles at the library for lending so more people can enjoy riding.
This wish has finally come true.
Using funds from a grant received from the Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative, CADL purchased four bicycles. Two of those bikes are in Stockbridge and two are at CADL’s Williamston branch. For this pilot project, bikes can be checked out by the community one day at a time with their CADL card. We hope this pilot project will lead to more CADL branches offering bicycles. So, stop by, check one out, and take a spin around Stockbridge and beyond.
Something else I have been working to make a reality is reciprocal borrowing with Jackson District Library branches. I have heard many times from people who live nearby but they have a library card to use at the Henrietta or Grass Lake Libraries, even though CADL Stockbridge is closer.
Now with that Jackson District Library card you can come into CADL Stockbridge and checkout books, audiobooks on CD and music CDs through the Michigan eLibrary. There are some limitations, DVDs and new books cannot be checked out, but you still have thousands of books to choose from. People with cards from the Pinckney Library can also check out books from CADL Stockbridge. We hope you come in and check something out.
