"... I can see color... and a small red dragon..." in New York's Grand Central Station

I have always loved Jane Yolen’s fantasy so when I came across an Unshelved Book Club dedicated to Foiled I jumped on the list for this new Graphic novel. Colorblind high school fencing star Aliera has a strange new foil her mother found at a tag sale, there’s a handsome new guy at school, and she’s about to find out she’s the Last Defender of Faerie. This was a fun read, organized in the stages of a fencing match, with touches of mystery, adventure and romance. Add to that fabulous artwork by Mike Cavallaro and you have a winning combination. I’m really looking forward to a sequel.
