A bear who is reminiscent of a beaver with a deadpan expression has lost his hat. He really loves his hat. Going from one animal to the next, he persistently questions all he meets regarding the hat’s whereabouts. Only toward the end of the book does he realize the hat has been hiding in plain sight. This is where this picture book takes a decidedly dark turn when the hat thief is discovered. Clever and funny, adults will enjoy this little gem as much as children.
