Born of Night

If you are a fan of Kenyon’s Dark-Hunters Series and haven’t already found your way to her League Novels check these out.

The League novels are not new, but I missed them the first time around and I was thrilled to see them back in print. As in most of her novels, Kenyon creates characters so battered and bruised by the world that it is astonishing that they come through with a sense of humor (mostly sarcastic) and the ability to eventually recognize love when it finds them. These are high action romantic suspense. Born of Night’s lead character is a highly decorated assassin pushed to his limits who “retires” from a career that accepts no resignations. Recreating himself as a mercenary more dangerous than the League of Assassins he’s escaped, he places himself permanently on the run. When he’s hired to rescue a princess he finds his charge dangerous to his carefully constructed veneer of mercenary killer. Fans of Kenyon, Gena Showalter (The Darkest Night), Karen Marie Moning (The Dark Highlander) or Nora Roberts vampire hero, Cian, from the Circle Trilogy (Morrigan’s Cross) should check these out.
