I could not help but smile as I read this fast-paced story—particularly the sections narrated by Doctor Impossible, who plans to try to take over the world… again. The story moves back and forth between him and newbie hero Fatale who’s trying to fit into a league of superheroes, the Champions, struggling to work together after the loss of two members. Playing on the well-loved themes of superhero comics, Grossman asks realistic questions about Good and Evil, Power and Responsibility, and of course…how soon should a cyborg start to worry about rust.
