A story of inheritance, privilege, love, and oh yes, dragons.

The book has all the elements of the classic Victorian novel. A son hears his father’s deathbed confession. His younger brother feels he is cheated out his inheritance, and begins a legal quest for justice. His two sisters are left with insufficient dowries for a quality match, and agree to combine them on behalf of whoever receives an acceptable proposal first. It is a story of city and country homes, parties, and social hierarchy.

The only difference is all of the characters are dragons. They eat their dead to gain the power of their loved ones. Weak younglings are eaten by the privileged elite.

The author states the novel is “the result of wondering what a world would be like…if the axioms of the sentimental Victorian novel were inescapable laws of biology.” A quirky read in which the ridiculous meets shrewd social satire, try it whether you love Pride and Prejudice or Dragonlance.
