A collection of stories to appeal to the “evil genius” in us all.

The idea of this anthology appealed to me before I ever saw the list of contributors, but when I found out Austin Grossman (Soon I Will Be Invincible) opens the collection I was hooked. In Grossman’s story an eloquent boyfriend/genius writes a letter to his on again off again girlfriend explaining their relationship issues. But that’s just the start. The writers include some of my favorites—Theodora Goss, Genevieve Valentine, Alan Dean Foster, Laird Barron, Naomi Novik, and Mary Robinette Kowal. Harry Turtledove’s story“Father of the Groom,” made me laugh out loud and David D. Levine’s“Letter to the Editor” offers interesting insight into a superhero’s archenemy. I could go on, but suffice it to say, John Joseph Adams has assembled another fabulous anthology!
