The Bird King: An Artist’s Notebook

A former winner of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, multiple Hugo and World Fantasy Awards--not to mention an Oscar, Shaun Tan's work (including The Arrival, The Lost Thing) is strange and wonderful and The Bird King offers a wonderful peek inside his head and his sketchbook. It has sections of untold stories, drafts and ideas for some of his award winning work, life drawings and a representative sample from his notebooks of sketches that are "the equivalent of daydreaming." Fabulous art with stories I hope he someday tells.
