Just One Year

This companion novel to Just One Day completes the story begun in the first title. Willem spends a perfect day in Paris with Lulu and realizes just how special she is only after it is too late. He doesn't even know her real name.

 

What makes both of these books wonderful is not the romance, and the pining over someone who might never be seen again (but don't give up hope on the romance bit). Instead, the experience of that day becomes a spark of transformation and self-realization for both characters. These books are also a meditation on destiny vs. choice.

 

Other reasons I liked these books: The family relationships. Both need work, but for such different reasons! The fun use of Shakespeare. Travel.

 

I highly recommend reading both titles for your own dose of "double happiness."
