Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song

Amos Lee’s music is the perfect blend of folk, country and soul. The soul in his delivery and his poignant writing just draw me in. Stand outs for me on this album include “Johnson Blvd,” “Chill in the Air”—with Allison Kraus delivering a beautiful harmony, “Dresser Drawer,” “Indonesia,” and “Mountains of Sorrow”—featuring Patty Griffin, and “Burden.” But I enjoyed everything! Fans of John Hiatt, Patty Griffin, Ben Harper and Norah Jones should give this a try.
