Lightning

Laura Shane has a mysterious guardian angel or at least she is led to believe that she does.  Ever since her traumatic birth, a blond, blue-eye young man dressed in a navy pea coat appears periodically to save her from imminent danger.   After a handful of these occurrences during her childhood, he isn’t seen by her for several years.  During this time she almost forgets about his existence.   As Laura grows older she attends college, embarks on a successful career, and starts a family.  One day after his long absence her guardian angel suddenly reappears to save her family from a horrible accident the he has foreseen.   After surviving this ordeal Laura finally learns his true identity.  She is then drawn into a struggle to assist him in saving humanity from a dark and oppressive alternate reality.

I enjoyed this story because it combines time travel, space-time continuum paradoxes, and plenty of suspense.
