A Dotted Line

Nickel Creek’s new album showcases the strengths of each member of the trio and their growth since their last release nine years ago. Chris Thile, Sean Watkins, and Sara Watkins have individually built solid and phenomenal solo careers exploring music ranging from classical to bluegrass (with pop, rock, and country as just a few of the stops in between).  From the start of the cd I was yanked in by the soulful “Rest of My Life.” I loved the whole album but “Elsie,” “Elephant in the Corn,” “Love of Mine,” and “Where is Love Now” are particular favorites. Fans of any of the artists individually, Punch Brothers or Alison Krauss should take note.
