This is a wonderful story and the top pick of LibraryReads for April 2014. A.J., a curmudgeonly widowed bookseller, makes a new life for himself with a precocious two-year-old abandoned in his store, a unique publishing rep, and an assortment of characters on an island in New England. Witty, sad, well-written, and just a lovely read! Readers and more specifically fans of Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand or The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society should give this a try.
