Shows how children and adults view the world from very different perspectives
The focal point of this picture book is a colorful monorail train. All the other illustrations are in black and white. Being a fan of public transportation and light rail, I was initially drawn to this book when I saw it on display in the library.
It is about a small child who is traveling from her home in the city to visit her grandmother in the country. Along the way she imagines her future and all the amazing places that she wants to go.
On the surface, Line 135 is a simple story. However, depending on reader interpretation, it is full of meaning. For children this book is about possibilities. For adults, it may have a deeper meaning about our journey through life.
