Yesterday’s Kin

In this new novella aliens have landed in New York with a mission to save humanity from a coming catastrophe and the lives of geneticist Marianne Jenner and her family are caught up in the chaos and order of their plan. Family is at the heart of this story in a number of ways and Kress does a great job of telling a large story in a compact form. Fans of classic SF short stories in particular should try this.
