Gilbert Goldfish Wants a Pet

Poor Gilbert Goldfish, so rich in so many ways, longs for a pet to love and care for. After a series of near-misses -- a dog who turns out to just be visiting, a mouse interested only in Gilbert's cheeselike qualities, and a fly who gets swatted before their relationship can really take off -- Gilbert begins to give up on ever finding that special someone. No spoilers, but this is a bright and bouncy and witty tale with a happy (and surprising) ending.
