Dory Fantasmagory

Dory, aka Rascal, is a youngest child with a giant imagination. Hanlon captures the mind of an exuberant 6-year-old spot on. Her siblings roll their eyes at her babyish ways, but are drawn into her games anyway. When they try to scare her with a story about the evil Mrs. Gobble Gracker, she creates a plan to defeat the dreaded foe. Her version of a fairy godmother? Hilarious. And don't even get me started on her doctor's appointment, when Dory just can't seem to stop pretending to be a dog. Charming spot illustrations add the perfect touch to an already amazing story. It's a great pick for lovers of Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman, and makes a great read aloud even for older children.
