The Ballad of Black Tom

Charles Thomas Tester crossed a line when he skirted the rules of a deal with a powerful sorceress, attracting the attention of too many people and beings. But his anger at the world and its treatment of him has lead him into a dark design meant to end the age of man. Dark, scary, and horribly understandable… in a terrible kind of way. This is a retelling of Lovecraft's “Horror at Red Hook” from the point of view of a minor African American character that takes head on the overt racism in Lovecraft's works with a masterful exploration of race relations that could sadly be applied as easily (and terribly) in the modern day.
