Miles Morales: Spider-Man

In this latest Marvel YA novel, Miles Morales faces the age old dilemma of the teenage superhero - balancing family, school, and superhero duties. For Miles, there is the added pressure of keeping his scholarship, even in the face of a history teacher who lectures on the pros of slavery and seems to be focusing all his scorn and contempt on the two black students in his class. With his spidey-senses constantly tingling and the pressure mounting to stand up to his teacher, Miles needs to figure out how to fuse the two sides of his life. If you’ve never read a Jason Reynolds novel before, do yourself a favor and pick this one up. (If you have read a Jason Reynolds novel before, I don’t know what you’re waiting for.)
