All these stories are fun and imaginative!
Connie Willis is one of my favorite storytellers so I was thrilled to hear that she was releasing an expanded version of Miracle and Other Christmas Stories—which to-date has been my favorite holiday collection. She doesn’t disappoint! The stories can be creepy like “In Coppelius’s Toy Shop” or humorous like “Miracle”—taking on both office Secret Santas and the age-old question of which is better: Miracle on 34th Street or It’s a Wonderful Life. “All Seated on the Ground” is a funny story of first contact and holiday carols. Of the newly added stories I really enjoyed “Now Showing” about a strange suspenseful Saturday at the movies and “Just Like the Ones We Used to Know” about a freakish near-worldwide Christmas Eve snow storm. All the stories are fun and imaginative! Fans of Jeanette Winterson’s Christmas Days should definitely check this out.
