A group of explorers are on a survey mission on a distant planet with only a single android to act as their security unit. When they are cut off from the neighboring mission and various systems in their portable habitat begin to act up, the explorers set off to investigate with their security android. Their hacked-its-control-module-years-ago, no-longer-has-any-restrictions-on-its-behavior, hates-all-humans security android. ...I know I made it sound threatening in that paragraph, but really, Murderbot may be the most relatable android I’ve ever met? A cyborg with no restrictions on its behavior and all it wants to do is hang out in its room and devour 30,000 hours worth of books, tv and movies. Me too, Murderbot. Me too.
