From Nottingham to the Royal Wedding!

Cellist Kanneh-Mason is already a sensation and was named BBC Young Musician of the year in 2016, but he first came to my attention when his beautiful cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” for the 2017 BAFTA awards went viral. And I was thrilled to see him performing at the recent royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Check out his first album which includes “Hallelujah”, “No Woman, No Cry,” “Evening of Roses” by Josef Hadar (performed at the 2018 BAFTAs), as well as a live performance of Shostakovich’s First Cello Concerto backed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.
