Herrera’s series starter introduces a group of Caribbean immigrants raised in New York City thriving and finally ready for love. The heroes of this story are Nesto Vasquez, who’s moving his Afro-Caribbean food truck Upstate to be closer to his family and stand out in the crowd, and Jude Fuller, the Youth Librarian at the local Public Library. This is a refreshing multicultural gay romance with mouthwatering food, heartbreaking moments, and wonderful humor. It also organically raises the issues of immigrations, racism, and homophobia without taking away from the story. This is a great read for any fan of contemporary romance.
