MOVE vs. Philadelphia

The MOVE organization of Philadelphia was a group founded by John Africa in 1972. They believed in "The Guidelines" and lived communally while striving to return to a hunter-gatherer/green society. They were opposed to technology, the children were raised as vegetarians, and their political ideology took some insight from the Black Panthers. This documentary follows MOVE through two different confrontations with the Philadelphia police. It is centered around the MOVE Commission, which issued its report in 1986, and their investigation into the Osage Avenue bombing and the aftermath of the fire. This is a very candid look at a very controversial event in the history of Philadelphia.
