A fascinating look at a Michigan-born politician to watch and our broken health system.
Here El-Sayed narrates a blend of memoir, an explanation of the science of epidemiology, and a call to action for a progressive approach at treating an epidemic of insecurity. He’s a Michigan-born and raised Egyptian-American, UofM grad, Rhode Scholar, and recent gubernatorial candidate. And I suspect we’ll be hearing his name on the national stage more often—one can already find his writing in The New York Times, The Hill, or The Huffington Post or catch him in action on his Crooked Media podcast American Dissected on politics and public health. Healing Politics is definitely more political than a title like What the Eyes Don't See but it’s on par in its look at public health inequities.
