Maggie: Alaska's Last Elephant

Heartwarming story about Maggie the elephant

After Maggie the elephant's companion in the Alaskan Zoo, Annabelle, died; Maggie was depressed and all alone.  Zookeepers tried to keep her happy but ultimately she was sent to live at a sanctuary (PAWS) in California when their efforts weren't successful.  She had to adjust to a whole new environment and herd and of elephants.  She is now happy and content in her new home.  This is a great story that shows how zoos ensure the best care for their animals even if that means moving them someplace that suits them better.
