Country Music

I am not a regular listener of country music, but I do enjoy documentaries, especially historical.

Another Ken Burns production that I found very engaging. It is filled with the biographies of innovators in the field, reflections on how current events influenced the music, descriptions of the types of music and the variety of instruments. There were geographic regions that influenced the music, the Nashville sound, Bakersfield sound and many influences from Texas. Folk music singer-songwriters moved over to country, as well as, country music influenced other forms of music. Later in Johnny Cash’s career, when Country music was not paying a lot of attention to him, a Rap producer asked to produce an album with him, that proved to be successful. Country music has something to say for just about everyone!
