Nail biting, pillow clutching, suspense

I love a good psychological thriller/horror movie. I enjoy watching them alone, with the lights off, and the ability to yell "don't go in there!" and this movie is capitvating. I am a big fan of Janelle Monáe's music so I was excited when this movie came out. You are introduced to a strong and outspoken author fighting against white supremacy in the United States. Then you are taken to a time where slavery was the norm and the Civil War was raging. The suspense, twists, cringes, and anger keep you watching, waiting to see where this is going. If you enjoyed Get Out (which I really recommend if you haven't), Antebellum is a must see.
