Based on the true story of Jella Lepman, this is the story of how Anneliese and Peter find Jella's Traveling Book Exhibit in post WWII Germany. Jella asked for, and received, children's books from all over the world with the idea "that books from around the world could help children feel connected to each other, and that they were the best hope for preventing another war." The minimalist illustrations in this book simply add to the magic of books in a child's eye.
