A Mysterious Tale of Swimming in Eerie Waters

Are you dreaming of the summer heat and Michigan’s inland lakes? Then splash into this light horror, chiller of a book. Two teenagers begin to spend extensive time together on a canoe and soon plunge into the waters of young love. Being the daredevil, risk taker teens they are, they explore an all too perfect house discovered beneath the lake. First, take a deep breath and picture the gorgeous aqua water not unlike Kitch-iti-Kipi (Keep the Kitty!). Next start reading and picture yourself swimming deeper and deeper at the bottom of a lake inside a fully furnished house. The flourishing love story between the teens narrowly mimics the anxieties of swimming underwater for long periods of time. It’s not as scary as the author’s Bird Box, but you will squirm a tiny bit.  A bit fantastical, a bit insane, you will savor the claustrophobia.
