The Alchemist

A beautiful journey of self discovery

I had heard such good things about this book, but hadn't gotten around to reading it for years. Once I did, I saw why it is amazing. The journey that the protagonist takes is both a physical and emotional revelation for him.  The prose is lush and immersive, which is stunning when you consider that this is a translation from Portuguese (kudos to the translators). I really feel like I took the journey with the protagonist, and came out all the better for it.
