This first book by Jackie Polzin is delightful to read.  Even though the story is told through the lives of a small backyard brood of chickens, by reading between the lines you feel a vibrant slice of life concerning the lives of two people. Marriage and motherhood, friendship and grief are all here just waiting for the reader to experience. I liked it because it is so different from the norm.
