Thought provoking read from a promising new author

Theatre Of Marvels is the debut novel by Lianne Dillsworth.  It is the historical fiction tale of Zillah, a light skinned woman making her living in Victorian England by playing “The Great Amazonia” in a variety show.  She has hopes of moving up in society through acting as well as dating Vincent, a viscount whom she met through the show. Plans are derailed when she discovers a secret in Vincent’s past as well as a possibly kidnapped woman who is to be added to the show.  This is an original story set in a rather turbulent time and Dillsworth doesn't shy away from any of it.  Zillah is an ambitious, gutsy, and strong heroine. Though at times it feels more like a Young Adult title, Dillsworth’s detailed writing and storytelling will keep you engaged.
