If you're looking for something to make the nerdiest bits of you happy...

"This one is for my gamers" the dedication reads, and I can see that that's true, but as someone who plays no video games whatsoever, I still absolutely LOVED this book. In a glorious mixture of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure author Saad Hossain gets high marks from me in plot, characters, and world-building. Though it had aspects of plenty of dystopian fiction that's come before it, the mixture of those elements and the additions of magic had exhilarating twists and turns. In a world broken up not by nations but by corporations and run mainly by a range of artificial intelligence, is it the hackers who have the power to destroy and save the world? The coders? Turns out it could actually be the mythical gods roaming the scorched terrain that makes up most of the planet nowadays... Hop into the most robust part of the virtual world, Final Fantasy, and find out! The book made me laugh even as it had me on the edge of my seat, and at the end I just wanted more.
This one's for gamers, fans of graphic novels, and readers who liked the Dune trilogy by Frank Hebert.
