A sweet and loving middle-grade graphic novel.

The charming illustrations make you fall in love instantly, but the first thing I really adored about this book is the main character, Marjorie. She is young and tired, handling way too much, and just trying to hold on to the pieces of her life that she still enjoys. You relate to her, you feel bad for her, you want to see her succeed. The story should make you feel sad, but somehow it is so full of hope. It handles grief and friendship, and does so with poise and whit.
I recommend this book to readers 12 or older who enjoyed the 2016 movie Revolting Rhymes, the Netflix series Last Kids on Earth, and Series of Unfortunate Events (the books or Netflix series).
