An interesting read for fans of the TV Series
The Good Place is a sitcom that aired on television for four seasons. It is a highly serialized show that follows four characters from very different walks of life that have experienced a sudden death and find themselves in the “afterlife,” a utopian-like neighborhood. Throughout the series, it tackles several deep questions related to moral philosophy and ethics. Despite the profound nature of the themes presented, the show is absolute hilarious! Philosopher and show consultant, Todd May, once described this TV series as “a form of post-modern art that bridges high and low culture.”
The Good Place and Philosophy is a compendium of essays by various authors that deal with several of the salient themes addressed in the show. I’m a big fan of the show and loved this book. I think it’s an insightful and fun read for fans of the series who consider themselves wannabe, “arm-chair” philosophers.
