My Aunt is a Monster

Completely wonderful from top to bottom, My Aunt is a Monster is one you'll gobble up in one sitting.

The first and most important thing that I love about it is the main character Safia. She is so expressive her thoughts and feelings seem to come right off the page, and while her blindness is far from the focus of the story, it also isn't swept aside. One of my favorite details was an illustration of items she was packing for a trip, which included not only her cane but its different interchangeable tips.
Safia stands out as the protagonist, but every last character is vivid and colorful (and I'm not only talking about the illustrations). I will definitely be keeping an eye out for sequels.
This one is for the readers who like fun things. If you're looking for excitement with a happy ending, bright colors, and most importantly adventure, this is the book for you. You might like it if you enjoyed Oh My Gods! by Stephanie Cooke, and Squad by Maggie Tokuda-Hall.
