Bob's just a sci-fi geek lucky enough to make a mint selling his software company -- until he ends up cryofrozen, revived as an AI, and put in charge of an interstellar probe. This is classic space-opera exploration polished up with modern scientific theories, but the focus is on adventure. Add in a nice line in snarky humor and enough philosophy to give it depth without bogging down, and this makes for a fast, fun read.
