The Messy Lives of Book People

A fun read with an intriguing title

A cleaning lady finds herself pulled into an investigation to figure out what caused her boss, a famous bestselling author, to adopt the lifestyle of a recluse.  I was drawn to this book by the interesting title, which turned out to be an accurate description of the story.  It certainly has a lot of characters that are “book people” in it – a novelist, an aspiring writer, a crime fiction writer, two literary agents, a literature professor, and a small press publisher.  And in terms of “messy lives,” as the story unfolds a tangled web of complicated relationships are revealed.  This was a really fun book because it involved a lot of unexpected twists and turns.
